Our story began when Marzena, our founder and a photographer, traveled to Uganda to document the work of an NGO, operating a school in the heart of the Crater Lakes Region. Nestled within a rural plantation community, the school became a place Marzena returned to on multiple occasions over the following years, building meaningful relationships with children and families and deepening her understanding of their daily realities. Their strength, warmth, and unbreakable resilience left a profound imprint on her soul. Despite the hardships and struggle for daily survival, the community carries an unwavering sense of hope, the hope that one day their children will have opportunities beyond the limits of their environment.

Walking with young children each morning as they covered long distances to reach school in the next village, Marzena found the inspiration that gave life to Wheels for Education Africa.

In September 2025, she initiated the official formation of Wheels for Education Africa, a nonprofit organization registered in the United States and operating under a fiscal sponsorship of Key Biscayne Foundation.

What began as a long, unsafe walk to the classroom will become a short, safe bus ride toward a brighter future.

Our goal is to provide safe, reliable transportation for children in the Kasenda communities and other remote areas of Uganda, while strengthening fragile classrooms into secure, durable, and welcoming spaces where every child can learn without fear.
