WHEELS FOR EDUCATION

In the heart of Western Uganda, within Kabarole district lies Kimya, a rural community surrounded by lush banana plantation. Despite the hardships and struggle for daily survival, this community is bound by a deep sense of resilience. In the face of adversity, people hold on to hope, nurturing the seeds of change that could one day transform the lives of their children.

Everyday, in order to reach school many small children face long, unsafe journeys, on dusty or muddy roads, simply to get an education. Every day, children risk their lives on dangerous roads, where accidents with motorcycles and trucks are tragically common. During the rainy season, these challenges intensify, where roads turn into rivers of mud, and streams overflow. Children arrive at school drenched, exhausted, or not at all. Many stay home for days at a time, falling behind in their studies.

WHEELS FOR EDUCATION AFRICA is a project dedicated to changing the current situation. Our goal is to provide reliable small buses for these children to travel safely to school and arrive ready to learn.

• Reduce long, exhausting and risky walks for many young children.

• Ensure children can attend school regularly, even during the rains.

• Give young learners a chance to focus on their dreams instead of the hardships of their journey.
