FUTURE FOR RUSONA SCHOOL
Rusona School
One of the hardest schools to reach within Kabarole district is Rusona School, a small community school atop a hill, surrounded by lush matoke (green banana) plantations. It servers 120 children, between the ages of 3 and 10. With no outside support, local parents came together to give their children a chance at education. Using only natural materials they could gather, they build a modest school structure. While their dedication created a place of learning, the building itself remains fragile and unsafe, leaving the children in need of a safer environment where they can learn and grow. Despite these challenges, the children arrive with eagerness to learn every day. Their parents, though struggling with deep poverty, sacrifice what little they have to ensure their children can attend school.
WHEELS FOR EDUCATION AFRICA is a project dedicated to changing the current situation and creating a lasting impact. Our mission is to rebuild the school into a resilient and welcoming place for learning by leveraging smart, community driven partnerships.
Your gift will provide:
• Safe, secure classrooms built with strong, lasting materials
• Desks and benches, where children no longer have to crowd together or sit on the bare ground
• Hope, dignity, and opportunity for the entire community
